Current Web Site - JAVA help

Could anybody with some Java experience solve a problem for me?
The Ticker Tape banner on the front page of the current web site has stopped working on my PCs although I have noticed that it works on some peoples PCs (e.g. the Estate Office ones). Have eliminated the Web Browser as the source of the problem. I think it is a Java issue as I have version 1.6 (the latest) but the EO PCs have 1.4. Any body any ideas or inside knowledge??

It is difficult to say without knowing exactly which platform you are using, which browser you are using and how you have Java configured. The page below might provide some clues. It has some possible reasons why Java might not be working.

thanks mike. I will have a look through this. I am running a standard windows XP with Explorer 7 and Java Standard edition 6. By a process of elimination it does look as though the problem started when I ungraded to edition 6

What happens if you go to the page below? Do you see the animated dancing Duke logo? If you do then that verifies that the JVM is working and is able to run Java applets.
