I called the police too - they seemed quite helpful. It was also my boyfriend who opened the window and yelled at them. Not that they could hear over their motorbike engines that sound like hedge strimmers, although I'm sure hedge strimmers are more powerful. It was a shame that they were wearing their helmets.
