What the hell are you people being taught? I've just logged into this forum with the vain idea of finding like-minded individuals who actually care about Wing Chun - as a lifestyle choice, not as a big macho thing to beat the crap out of any who dare cross their paths! When being trained in any martial art, above all else, conflict is the last resort - AFTER trying to get away! Never provoke a fight, never argue with someone if it looks like the situation could get nasty - just walk away. Wing Chun teaches you how to hurt your opponent badly, and knowledge such as this is not to be taken lightly. If someone flips their finger at you, calls you a complete f***ing asswipe, just walk away. Chances are that they don't know you personally, so why get upset? What does the opinion of some schmuck mean anyway? When you have to fight, it should be with an eye to the nearest door. I may be able to take on three drunks outside a bar, kick the crap out of them, leave them in a pool of blood, but it only takes one lucky punch to get thru, and you're sitting in the dentist chair for the next three months getting your teeth fixed. And never forget that, in a hostile situation, someone who knnows how to use a knife will not make you aware he has one until he's close enough to do you harm!
I like the quote about the two tigers, though. thanks for that.
