I don't have any experience in fighting but Wing Chun seems extremely effective. When high kicks come into play when sparring in our school it's like God has smiled upon you because high kicks are really ineffective in close quarters. We just step and punch. Come on in to our school and we could try out some of the stuff. We prefer to try out Wing Chun's methods on others. It gives us realistic feedback on how we practice - and how effective or inefective certain moves are. It'll give you the same feedback. Or you can try out some of the experienced students. We're all friends and we're all friendly. We can grow together in the martial arts. As for uniforms, there are minimum requirements. We have t-shirts but that's all. The school promotes a very relaxed and informal atmosphere in which you learn as fast or slow as YOU want. You can get ruff and tuff or soft and sweet; however, ruff and tuff is preferred. But one thing we all strive for is to have the confidence and abilities to fight in an emergency situation. My confidence is just starting to build in this department. I've been in Wing Chun for about a year and really enjoy it a lot! See ya!
