Usually you can tell from the final chord. Also, if it's in a minor, you will frequently see the raised 7th note of the minor scale. (For example, if it's in A minor, you will commonly see G#s.) However, it's not unusual for a piece to go through several keys, so the final chord is *usually* (not always!) the safest bet. Alice
