
Posted by sabrina IVORY KEYS EBONY KEYS note: because of ASCII, I can't write the correct notation for "double flat" and "double sharp"...but when you see two flats in front of a note then you know it's a double flat...the double sharp looks more like an "X"... anyway, the double stands for a tone or 2 semitones...SO!...if it's a double sharp then raise the note by two semitones and if its a double flat lower it by two semitones...

there is...every key has three separate notes...the name change(s) are called "ENHARMONIC"...doesn't mean anything else but that, the keys are exactly the same...check it out:
C is also B# and D double-flat
D is also C double sharp and E double flat
E is also D double sharp and F flat
F is also E# and G double flat
G is also F double sharp and A double flat
A is also G double sharp and B double flat
B is also A double sharp and C flat
C# is also D flat and B double sharp
D# is also E flat and F double flat
F# is also G flat and E double sharp
A flat is also G#
B flat is also A# and C double flat
