
Posted by Alice It's a little less obvious when there are sharps or flats in the key signature, but here's an example: Key signature is one sharp (should be G major (or e minor)), there are no accidentals, and the piece ends (and sounds complete) on A; Dorian mode again (because A is to G as D is to C, if that helps!)

Well, if you have a piece that looks as if it's in C major (no sharps or flats in the key signature or occuring as accidentals), but it ends on D (and sounds finished and complete there), then it's in the Dorian mode (my personal favourite!)
