Hello, I'm trying to identify a scale I came across today. Here it is:
root, whole, whole, half, whole, half, whole, whole (octave).
My music theory is limited to basic scales, modes, etc, and I don't think that it is a mode because ascending from the minor sixth there are four whole steps in a row, which doesn't occur in any major scale.
The closest idea I can come up with is that it is the ascending melodic minor but starting at the fifth...I need someone with more expertise to help me give this it's proper name.
Thanks for the help!
