Hi, I'm really struggling with an example given in a Harmony textbook I'm studying. In the key of C major, notes given are E, B, D, F, G. I would label this as chord iii9... but the book has it as iiidim9. How is this chord considered to be diminished? E, G, B is E minor, F is the 7th and G is the 9th... there is no diminished interval! Any help would be appreciated.
