
Posted by 02 For clarification in general: viio/vi means "seven diminished of six." The first number relates to the second number, and the second number relates to the original key. Therefore, vi is E because that is the sixth scale degree of the original key of G major. viio is the D# diminished chord because that falls on the seventh scale degree of the new key, E minor.

Good answer Josh, but be careful about using the word "borrow," since that word is used specifically for borrowing chords from the parallel key.
