Using the C Major Scale as an example:
The formula for a minor chord is root note, minor third, and perfect fifth, so when naming a D minor chord, the I-III-V are D-F-A. Why is the F(III) considered minor in the chord formula, but the note is Major in the C Major Scale from which the Dm is being derived? New to this subject, and any help is greatly appreciated!
