
Posted by 02 So... the E# is not called "F" because you would have a different chord theoretically (or a misspelled chord). If you mean Csus4 (as in C natural), and you have an E# in it, the E# must be tied over, or the chord is not a Csus4. The C (natural) suspended chord has an F that resolves to E (or E flat in minor). I don't know this music, but judging from your post, it's likely that you have a C# major triad (chord). A triad is built in thirds, and therefore a C# triad has the notes C# E and G with accidentals determining whether it is major, minor, augmented or diminished. You have to have the letters (notes) C E and G in the triad for C(#) to be the root of the triad.
