
Posted by mike on 7/1/2007, 10:00 am, in reply to "free learning tool for the circle of fifths" I just learned to play 4 different sus7 chords... C sus7, Eb sus7, Gb sus7, and A sus7. That's probably a lot harder than learning it the normal way unless you know all your intervals (the chords are voiced 1 4 b7) but since I played guitar before I was familiar with chord construction a little bit and breaking down the circle into 4 different chords made it a lot easier to remember what the order of the notes were, even though this way its actually a circle of 4ths.

I didn't start playing piano untill I was 24,but I had started playing guitar when I was 15. I was mostly self taught so I made up a way for myself to learn the different keys on the piano keyboard.
Then I learned how to play the major scale starting on each note of the chords in the above order so....
C sus7 (C major F major Bb major)
Eb sus7 ( Eb major Ab major Db major)
Gb sus7 (Gb major B major E major)
A sus7 (A major D major G major)
