Posted by yamex5 As a first check, look for the instrument that has the highest pitched notes overall. Second, you might select the instrument that has the highest pitched, least regular durations. Whether the harmony is simultaneous or arpeggiated, there should be a positive correlation between the durations of the different instruments making up the harmony, as opposed to the melody.
