To expand on perra's post: you have a transposed mode. If you start your collection of notes (your scale) on D, then you have the D major scale: D E F# G A B C# D. You may or may not be aware that the modes can be described as the white keys on the piano, and if you start on say D, you have a mode that is sometimes called "Dorian." The definition of the modes is best understood by the sequence of half steps.
