Posted by Doug I pretty much am a beginner at theory so I would love to know of any books starting with the barebone basics of forming chord progressions and rules (doesnt have to include notation and reading music, I already know all that, and am puzzled why it's considered "Music Theory" and not "Notation" by some books) Thank you all! :)

Thank you so much for your response. I just had one more question: Could anyone and everyone recomment thier favorite book or books on music theory? I really want to learn as much as I possibly can and so far books have been the best way.
