Whatever the reason (we like #1 better, of course!), there has been a change in the Friday night double bill. Now appearing with THE ASPHALT JUNGLE is SYMPHONY FOR A MASSACRE (1963), a clever "hijack the heist" film that features a notable cast (but none of them named in the hastily-added description at the NC 21 web page): Charles Vanel, Michel Auclair, Jean Rochefort, Michele Mercier, Claude Dauphin, and Daniela Rocca. (The FNF chose to focus on co-writer Jose Giovanni, who has a small part in the film as well.)
This is the first film rarity from THE FRENCH HAD A NAME FOR IT's 130+ film list that the FNF is inserting into their film schedule. We played it in November 2019 as part of THE FENCH HAD A NAME FOR IT 6, which was the first time Jacques Deray's film (his third in a long career mostly specializing in thrillers) screened in America since 1965.
That brings the total number of films in NC 21 that "borrow" titles from previous MCP screenings up to six (25%).
