The film is billed as a rare "Sci Fi Noir,"
I managed to catch it once on television. It featured Nils Asther, Helen Walker, and Paul Cavanagh. It was an adaptation of a play by Barre' Lyndon. Garrett Fort and Charles Kenyon. The Paramount production was directed by Ralph Murphy and the supporting cast included plenty of Universal extras and supporting players.
This overlooked film was somewhat eclipsed by the 1959 color remake from Hammer Studios "The Man Who Cheated Death" with Anton Diffring, Hazel Court and Christopher Lee. European prints featured Hazel Court baring some flesh while modeling for a sculpted bust. The reboot was directed by Terence Fisher and scripted by Jimmy Sangster.
