Flicker Alley pricing is tantamount to Criterion, but they are worthwhile products due to the film upgrades and the amount of extra material included. That said, I only have a couple of the Flicker Alley noir, the essential restorations of Woman on The Run and Too Late For Tears. But big money for Trapped, High Tide, The Guilty, Repeat Performance or The Man Who Cheated Himself? Nah. I can't see paying $35-$40 for films I'll likely only watch once or twice, I have snatched most of those on DVR from Eddie's TCM airings, anyway. I may invest in the foreign titles at some point. In my opinion, the most essential Flicker Alley products are their restored short films of Chaplin at Mutual and Essenay, and you can buy those digitally. Most of my DVD money is going to Kino Lorber for its wholesale restoration and release of so much of the Universal/Paramount noir catalog, and they do sell DVDs as well as blurays of their issues. All of them are reasonably priced.
