The opener was the Academy Award winning "All the King's Men" followed by the adaptation of Sam Fuller's tabloid newspaper novel ("The Dark Page") "Scandal Sheet." Both are worthy films, but in my opinion, the latter is a bit more fun.
One change this year was the elimination of the early 5:00 pm weekday screening which allowed the projectionist to show the "B" film twice (5:00 and 9:00 pm) and the "A" film at 7:00 pm.
"All the King's Men" did better box office business. The purists stuck around "Scandal Sheet."
