Details are not yet up at the MoMA site, but word has reached Twitter via the high-octane megaphone of Farran Nehme that the Hugo Fregonese series which recently played at Cinema Ritrovato in Bologna (late June-early July) will run at MoMA from September 1-15. Dave Kehr, the co-curator of the Bologna show and the head of programming at MoMA, indicated that BLACK TUESDAY is part of the lineup and will be screened in "a new 35mm print."
Those in the NYC area are naturally encouraged to attend; when we have more details on the schedule (and we hope that BLACK TUESDAY might receive more than one screening!) we will pass it along.
The chances that the film will receive a screening at next year's NOIR CITY would seem to have jumped up a good bit, possibly with one of Fregonese's other noirs during his time in Hollywood.
