However, since one of my earliest posts on this website was to critique Don Malcolm's review of REPEAT PERFORMANCE, which was validated to me, personally, by the film's star, Joan Leslie (which, to protect Don's reputation, I never fully posted on my webpage of her reaction to his analysis of her film), below I provide Don's review, based on his "noir-o-meter," followed by my own review of the film and my critique of Don's exhibition of the massive failure of the what I've termed, disparagingly, "the hardboiled film noir paradigm," i.e., in this case, the exemplar that is/was Don's noir-o-meter. (I say "was" because after my critique of his REPEAT PERFORMANCE, Don has never again showed us on Blackboard his noir-o-meter calculations, factor by factor, of a film noir; he's only shown us the results, which would shield him from the in-depth critique that I made of his factors regarding REPEAT PERFORMANCE.)
