Re: Where Danger Lives: I, THE JURY (1953)
Nice piece, Don. I was wondering why I couldn't find I, THE JURY (1953) in my movie collection and discovered it has never been released on DVD other than in less-than-stellar DVD-Rs available from secondary internet sources. I do have MY GUN IS QUICK (1957). That movie didn't make a star of Robert Bray, either. Biff Elliott, Robert Bray, Ralph Meeker, Armand Assante, and Mickey Spillane himself---I guess the Mike Hammer role must have been a jinx for those hoping it would launch them to stardom. Meeker seems to have fared better than the others, although he usually had co-starring or featured billing. TV must have been a better medium for the character. Darrin McGavin was a long-time leading man on the tube, and Stacy Keach's Hammer was well received.
