The semi-troubling note that accompanies this otherwise welcome engagement is that the director of the upcoming PRIVATE PROPERTY remake, Chadd (not misspelled) Harbaugh, will be introducing the film. Skeptical as I remain about this remake based on the indefatigable Harbaugh's peripatetic (but mostly schlocky) career, I wonder if there are some hidden agendas that are about to surface in his introduction to Stevens' film. The Metrograph staff has been careful thus far to not make mention of Harbaugh's "other" relationship to the vintage film he'll be introducing tomorrow night. (Of course, the glass could be half-full, and Chadd is doing it because he loves the film, but two facts tend to nullify this for me: 1) He spells his name Chadd; 2) this place is called the Blackboard, where we reflexively think "half-empty.")
