I'm starting to see quite a bit of overlap between the Criterion Channel offerings and TCM, particularly the TCM offerings on HBO Max. Taking a look at some of the titles here, it seems there will be even more overlap now ... for example, Criterion just did a blowout on Dirk Bogarde and many of those same films are now on TCM's HBO Max "international" fare. One wonders at what point these various streaming services start hoarding various films to ensure subscriptions. Meanwhile, whither the Fox classic films? I see a good handful on Criterion, but less and less on TCM. Is Disney going to get into the act? Oh, and let's not forget Kino Lorber. You can now buy or rent many of their titles without needing the physical format or a subscription. I recently bought the Razzia sur la chnouf upgrade from them.
