"My Name is Julia Ross" was a "B" film that exceeded its modest budget limitations. The romantic leads (Nina Foch and Roland Varno) were also paired together in Columbia's "Return of the Vampire" with Bela Lugosi making his only other serious vampire appearance. Both films used some of the same stock music. Arthur Penn remade "My Name is Julia Ross" as "Dead of Winter" with Mary Steenburgen, Jan Rubes, and Roddy McDowell. It was a loose remake that differed somewhat from the original.
