...as we know, there are two types of remakes in TV noir:
--the one where they actually use the original title & "officially" remake it; and
--the one where they purloin the plot of an earlier noir and don't bother to acknowledge it to the viewership (or anyone else, for that matter)
Which in the instance Dan is citing, I'm wondering if HONG KONG was a Twentieth Century Fox show? Without slipping over to IMDB, I'm guessing that must be the case if they were lifting the story--in this way, they'd at least be within their legal rights to do so...
...and were there other eps of HONG KONG that did something similar? It certainly makes sense that "Suitable For Framing" would be a darned good TV noir, considering the quality of the original!! :-)
