The blurb in the noir news feed focused first on Santa Rosa (an online plug for the shows there in the aptly named North Bay Bohemian) so the first thought was that it was featuring SHADOW OF A DOUBT, but that turns out to be a different series.
As you'll see, the link takes you to Terry Ebinger's "depth psychological" approach to (mostly) Hollywood filmmaking--and this incarnation may have been suggested by Eddie's "in heist we trust" series in 2017. The psychotherapist/film buff is doing the "masterpiece-y" thing (there are no obscurities to be found in this lineup) but she does add at least a couple of films that Eddie did not program anywhere during his "heist phase" last year.
I would love to see her do a series on psychological self-reference in film, which could cover some territory that's further afield than what are mostly well-known movies where the materials that can be assembled are not quite so readily available in a "canned" format. For example, would LOVE to see her tackle a film like PANDORA AND THE FLYING DUTCHMAN in this type of context. Plus, she might be able to provide some insight into more hard-core "arthouse" cinema.
Several Blackboard regulars from the past still live in the North Bay--we'll reach out more directly to several of them and see if there's interest in these shows.
