I love looking at movie theater ads in newspapers of the 1960s and 1970s, because the situation was so different then. Most of the movies were intended for adult audiences; there was nowhere near as much family product or animation. Even intended blockbusters such as Ryan's Daughter and The Last Valley had adult themes and tone.
Lke ChiBob, I try to avoid multiplexes (here in Mexico as in the US), and one reason is that they are full of screaming kids because of all the family films on offer. It is like going to Chuck E. Cheese. No thanks.
