I'm sure that everyone here knows that Memories of Murder is a superb film. So let me call your attention instead to Friend (2001), which is a simply wonderful movie, a meaty story of the relationships between four men over a 20-year period between adolescence and mid-adulthood. A touch of Once Upon a Time in America here, but director Kyung-taek Kwak has his own confident style. (He made a sequel in 2013, which I have not seen.)
