Just for fun, it should be noted that Bosley Crowther, who was apparently mad that his monopoly on the rain that ruined parades was not selling briskly enough to allow him to retire from movie reviewing, really did NOT like TDTAR:
"It is pictures like this which give the movies a black eye and give us a pain in the neck."
Of course, the point was (and still is!) that there's an abundance of notable/highly-regarded noirs that have yet to play in the Castro version of NC...including a large swatch of 'em that are outside the 1941-53 timeframe. Some subset of them will definitely be making the cut...
