Perhaps Don can demonstrate from past festivals that this year is not unique, but my sense is that it is, and I assume that this inclusion is owed to the work I've posted on my website since the summer of 2014.
For example, only one of these spy noirs has been screened before (ESCAPE IN THE FOG).
The spy noirs in the current series are: THIS GUN FOR HIRE, QUIET PLEASE, MURDER, MINISTRY OF FEAR, ADDRESS UNKNOWN, ESCAPE IN THE FOG, THE FALLEN SPARROW, and CORNERED.
Also, IMO, ADDRESS UNKNOWN is a remarkable social justice film and, on the issue of anti-Semitism, it's much tougher than CROSSFIRE. Also, among all spy noirs released during the WWII era, its noir visual style is in the top tier.
