The name for this will give Steve Eifert a tug at the heartstrings: NOIR ALLEY.
The Sunday morning (10 am ET/7am PT) slot will have Eddie staring down his audience prior to the screening of classic, all-American (at least in this first schedule incarnation) film noir. Added features are hinted at on the NOIR ALLEY web page, but we will have to tune in to see exactly what these will be.
The full schedule is accessible at the link. As you'd expect for TCM, there are no major surprises, though advocates for "social justice" noir will notice a small flurry of such titles in the early going. Nice to see SHIELD FOR MURDER get a slot here (May 7). The total number of titles in the current schedule is 42, and they are split close to evenly among the two major decades (23 in the '40s, 19 in the 50s).
No question that Eddie looks more at home in this trailer...quite probably because he has a cocktail shaker in his hand and not a wine glass. We'll keep an eye out to see if the "belly up to the bar" motif is part of his opening schtick. To slightly amend John Ford: "quaff the legend!" :-)
