Happily, the woman whose interview at least partially bridged that gap (Sarah Weinman) has written an extensive essay that includes updated and more accurate information about Walker over at the LA Review of Books (posted back in April), which takes off from the oft-discussed but rarely anatomized issue of women writers during the classic noir era (in terms of both published fiction and screenplays).
