So Joan, Rita, Marilyn, Loretta, two doses of Virginia Mayo, Arlene Dahl, Belita, and a nasty little supporting part from Gloria--not all that shabby for the dame-lovers in the crowd. This could have gone even further in the "dame" department, however, which would have been a fun way to more formally thematize the proceedings. MIA here is the new print of TOO LATE FOR TEARS, which would have been a terrific tie-in with FNF projects and a tribute to Liz Scott, who did not receive such acknowledgment at last year's festival (she passed away on January 31, 2015). Other major noir "babes" missing are Gene Tierney (LEAVE HER TO HEAVEN, anyone?), Jan Sterling (FLESH AND FURY, maybe?), Ava Gardner (WHISTLE STOP), and Jayne Mansfield (THE BURGLAR).
Ticket prices ($14.71) seem a bit inflated, but perhaps that's a way to urge folks to pop for a festival pass--which still works out to about $11/ticket. Compared to NC (about $5/ticket for an all-access pass...) this is definitely not the "people's film noir festival."
