I read the linked review of the Preminger set coming. I would like that under my Hanukia (menorah). I had forgotten that Preminger directed Man With the Golden Arm. I like the film very much. It seemed a bit stage bound (I don't know whether it was backlot or location), but that doesn't matter. The performances were terrific. I can hear the score in my head as write this. Even today it is powerful. I the film very much except for the ending; I think it a 'cheat'.
While I don't care for remakes of sound films, this is one I wouldn't mind...with a more honest conclusion.
