This is episode 21 from the 1961-62 series, FOLLOW THE SUN. The series, which ran for 30 episodes, follows a trio of free-lance magazine writers. The three are played by Barry Coe, Gary Lockwood and Brett Halsey. The gimmick here is that they are based in Honolulu. Also with recurring roles are Gigi Perreau as their secretary and Jay Lanin as their contact with the Police. Of course the three newsmen are always getting involved with the usual assortment of nasty types.
Newsman Barry Coe is in Honolulu doing a magazine story on millionaire oilman, Brian Keith. Also in town at the same hotel is Keith's bit on the side, the statuesque Jayne Mansfield. Mansfield is escorted by George Brenlin, a bodyguard hired by Keith to keep tabs on Mansfield's movements.
Also in the mix is shady business type, Tom Palmer. Palmer and Keith are in the middle of closing a deal with a rich Saudi type. Mansfield is of course nowhere as ditsy as Keith and others think she is. She sees Palmer as the low-life he is. Newsman Coe, wanting a complete story on Keith, hitches onto Mansfield for a bit of q and a.
This leads to some less than friendly moves from Palmer, as he decides that Mansfield and Coe need to be filling a hole somewhere out in the woods. Keith however interrupts Palmer before his plan can be put into effect. A couple of right crosses and a left hook soon dispose of the villain. Keith decides to make an honest woman out of our girl, Jayne.
This is a fun episode with a light comic touch throughout.
