Dick(ie) Moore told a great story about Mitchum centered around their bumping into each other a few years after making OUT OF THE PAST. They had both been at an event in NYC and afterwards, they passed each other on escalators going in the opposite direction.
Mitch saw Dickie and blurted out: "Hello Dickie--didn't know you could talk--good to see you."
"And then he was gone," said Moore, who clearly enjoyed telling this tale.
