Thanks for noticing, Don. My theory that "roughies" came out of the sexual revolution and were mainly women's pictures was poorly expressed. While I'm convinced in the right of the theory -- especially after reading Gary Dean's post and link above regarding the Sarno's -- I thought it should be worked out more before making it a matter of record. So I deleted it. I would have left it up had someone responded. And yes the theory is arguable, as it should be, although Peggy Sarno's remarks soften whatever hits I might take. I would certainly welcome continued discussion and debate on the theory.
Knowing what I do about the creative process and the collaborative art of guerilla filmmaking, just don't anyone assert that the women who made "roughies" both in front of and behind the camera are purely victims, because it insults one's intelligence.
