Having only seen the public domain title on a less than ideal DVD version, I was impressed by how much better this new 35mm print was. I also believe that the film's running time was several minutes longer than the copy of "Woman on the Run" that I had purchased years ago. It was an excellent star vehicle for Ann Sheridan, who made the movie after buying her way out of her studio contract at Warner Brothers.
The second feature "Abandoned" also included Dennis O'Keefe in the cast. The film was directed by Joseph Newman who went on to be a regular television director on "The Twilight Zone."
The two films were well attended. The Music Box Theater added a lounge by remodeling a neighboring store front and reconfiguring the lobby which enhanced socializing opportunities. My sole complaint was a minor one in that the nearest parking lot hiked their rates considerably and the minimum parking time permitted was twelve hours. It cost more to park than it did to see the films and purchase refreshments!
