In addition to and often in combination with his acting, Burns has directed 11 features, none of which I've yet seen, sorry to say, but the industriousness speaks to a high level of ambition. He has continued to work with low budgets, because he wants to maintain creative control. He discusses the point in this informative interview, which I definitely recommend watching:
Of especial interest to this board would be his 10-episode Web mini-series The Lynch Pin, which is freely available on YouTube and which I will try to watch over the next couple of days - in fact, I may well make it my next NOTW or TV NOTW. (With Web productions, the line gets blurrier between the two.)
Another exciting television event is tonight's premiere of David Simon's new six-episode HBO mini-series Show Me a Hero, with Oscar Isaac. I won't see it until hits DVD, but it looks great.
