A big thank you to whoever it was that first posted this film. Based on the comments, I purchased a copy and it arrived yesterday. What a chilling performance Jake Gyllenhaal turns in as the driven petty thief turned TV news videographer. His eyes as well as his whole demeanor give evidence to his near psychotic, soulless pursuit of the story. He rattles off platitudes and procedures of business best practices as if he was Zig Ziglar at one of his famous seminars to his homeless sidekick assistant Rick played to perfection by young Riz Ahmed. While the whole film is suspenseful and entertaining, the last 1/2 hour or so will grab you by the throat and throttle your senses and sensibility. What a gripping, well played film. Again, thanks as always for the tips on such great films, that have become all too rare these days. "Network" is the only film that compares to "Nightcrawler" in its dark, satirical look at the media...and in comparison, Network was Disney...Nightcrawler" was Attila the Hun.
