Jefty, I completely agree with that assessment of Bronson; those later films really are a drag. But both CRIME WAVE and the exceptionally nasty BIG HOUSE USA are great showcases for his bristling and feral meanness. He was also pretty cool in the late 50s TV noir MAN WITH A CAMERA.
