Your bringing up THE LINE UP brings to mind another great Don Siegel film with another such scene: THE KILLERS (sorry to have to bring up yet again this controversial film). Norman Fell gets one of his best moments on film when Lee Marvin and Clu Gulager turn up the heat on Mr. Fell's sweat box in order to coax a little info out of the boy.
