Brother, can you spare a million (and a half)

Anybody looking to buy a house on this board should be alerted to the fact that the Lauren Bacall art deco penthouse on Telegraph Hill in San Francisco featured so prominently in DARK PASSAGE is up for sale for approx. a million and a half. Sounds like a bargain, haha. I have fond members of us Blackboarders gathering there to worship at the shrine after a meal at Julis' Castle a few years back. I can't think of a better place to call home. Hmm, let's see, what other house could I fantasize about owning in film noirdom? Right off the bat I would take Zach Scott's beach house in MILDRED PIERCE,..and Kirk Douglas' mountain chalet in OUT OF THE PAST. But for city digs after Lauren's I'd take Waldo Lydecker's apartment in LAURA! (Actually, this discussion could go on forever in my mind, and often does).
