I can’t help but say, with Thieves' Highway and Michael Moore in mind, that you're mixing apples and oranges. There is a wide difference between a theatrical feature that is primarily made to entertain, along with providing an ideological subtext, and Moore. He is a documentary film maker and a self-avowed polemicist who is purposefully out to upset the apple cart (oops! there I go again). For me, there is nothing more boring than a documentary that tries to take both sides. There are just some subjects that don't lend themselves to shades of "subtle grays," especially nowadays, imo.
