Thieves' Highway is one I've missed, a hole in the collection I must rectify. Given the last year's economic woes, a movie about the consequences of a "cutthroat, dog-eat-dog world" seems like current events. Your compilation of impressions of the movie is intriguing, Don, as is your own take on TH, and I like the idea of revisiting some early NOTWs. There are a few done by departed boarders I wouldn't mind taking a crack at myself.
