I thought it was an enjoyably goofy film, made mainly so by the dialogue style. The love scene in which Frank Lovejoy quizzes Terry Moore on the Constitution is a gem.
The visual compositions are often quite good, using Wellesian deep focus to considerable effect. It's not an average "trash" movie in that respect.
