Don, not only do I enjoy the write-up and vicarious thrill ride that is/was Richard Diamond (this sounds like an awfully good episode with the "saturation" level of noir you speak of) but reading your stuff and that of others here has really been an education...in noir certainly but also the in art of the english language.
As an very amateur etymologist,(and English major of long ago) I'm not ashamed to say I've learned a lot of new words and phrases here... new word for today...apotheosis. Thank you!
Always liked David Janssen and his dark, cool intensity and gravelly voice..., yet another casualty to drugs, alcohol or just bad kharma to early in life at 49.
