As a later-to-the-party collector of noir and crime titles, TV noir is the elephant in the room that I've been trying to avoid being crushed by.
But I can see now that if I don't soon roll over on this one, the elephant will. As we've seen, it's already started to make threatening noises here on the Board.
The new Japanese noir box set, the 'London Collection' of up-graded core Brit Noir titles, the recent noir-stained WB Archives releases, and all else that's begging for attention obviously may just have to bide its time in the corner for a spell.
Or not.
As I've said to several folks, the amount of choice among classic, neo, international classic, international neo, pre-noir, post-noir, HBO-noir or whatevergoes-noir these days can be paralyzing, especially at the moment at which one actually has to select something to watch...
Hello, my name is Gary and I'm a collector. And I'm here tonight for help.
(but after the meeting, Gord and Bob, we need to talk some more, ya know?)
